Summer Boxoffice

The Mammootty - Prithvi starrer 'Pokkiri Raja' has emerged as the biggest grosser among the summer. The film has gathered more than five and half crores share from the first four week. Completed in a big budget of around six crores, the film is likely to break even by a five week run. The film which opened 110 screens was declared as a Blockbuster, as the growing mouth publicity will ensure the safe run of the film for another couple of weeks in major centers. Mammootty and Prithvi have contributed equally to the success of this film which is sure to gather more momentum in the coming weeks.

The other two films, Jayaram's 'Kadha Thudarunnu' and Kunchako Boban’s 'Mummy&Me' may survive the season to become average earners. In fact 'Kadha Thudarunnu', directed by Sathyan can even become a hit, if the crew will planed well in releasing and marketing.

The biggest letdown of the season was definitely Mohanlal’s 'Alexander the Great', which has already fall down in first week of its release..
