Prithviraj, Srikanth play encounter cops in ‘Kutrap Pirivu’

Srikanth, who has been out of sight in Kollywood for the past couple of years, returns to Kollywood with a powerful role in ‘Kutrapirivu’. Prithviraj, who shuttles between Tamil and Malayalam films with equal east, plays a honest cop along with Srikanth who too dons the khakhi dress for the film. The duo is out to root out the Naxalite menace that has gripped the State in a big way.

The film’s script has become more relevant in the light of the recent naxal attack which took a heavy toll of over 70 CRPF soldiers recently. Srikanth and Prithviraj get ‘hired’ by the naxal-infested State to try their best to bring the naxals to book. The rest of the story is about the ways and means they adopt in rooting out the terror-group, including efforts to bring them to talking table and the ever-growing nexus between criminals and politicians.

The film, which is being directed by Manmohan, would be released simultaneously in its Telugu and Tamil versions, sources point out.

Let’s see if ‘Kutrapirivu’ bails Srikanth out of a dry run!
